Telangana announces plan to build AI city in Maheswaram hyderabad

Hyderabad will soon host India’s first and biggest ‘Artificial Intelligence City’ (AI City). Telangana Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (TGIIC) officials identified 200 acres of land parcels along Outer Ring Road in Maheshwaram, Serilingampally, Chevella, and Ibrahimpatnam mandals for setting up AI City. Hyderabad will also get the state’s first Skill University in 100 acres, for which land parcels were identified in the same locations and submitted to the state government for final approval. The state government is expected to finalise and allot land parcels for these projects soon after the election code ends in June. The land allotments are likely to be approved in the next cabinet meeting in June. Official sources said Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy will lay the foundation for AI City and Skill University ahead of “Global AI Summit” being held in the city in July. They said AI City will house and promote the AI ecosystem in the country.Addressing a meeting organised by Telangana Facility Manager Council (TFMC) on Friday last, IT and industries minister D Sridhar Babu said, “By setting up a dedicated AI City, we want to make Hyderabad as the ‘AI capital of India’. It is our earnest desire to see Hyderabad as an AI City. We want to see Hyderabad as the most happening city for AI activity. We would like to see the city as a house for AI research.”
